Norris Lake's clear emerald-green water — 34,000 acres of it — is an easy drive down the mountain for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Cove Lake State Park is closer still, with walking trails and picnic areas.
Sights Worth the Drive
Tour the historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary — ghost tours and concerts, with a restaurant on site — hike the trails at Norris Dam State Park, or spend a day sightseeing in the Big South Fork.

End the day the way guests love most: a soak in the hot tub on the back deck, string lights overhead and the Cumberland ridges fading into dusk. It's the best seat in the house for the sunset — and after a day on the trails, nothing beats it.

The cabin sits on top of Walden Mountain in the Cumberland Mountains of East Tennessee, over 1,900 ft up — and the sunrise pours across the ridges right from the back deck: pink-gold sky, a rising moon, and layer after layer of green Cumberlands below you.
